Pest Control Project

North Harbour Custodians is a group formed to execute a pest control project at North Harbour, Kawau Island. The group has received funding with the project to run for two years and is primarily targeting rats. Kawau Island has many native bird species present including kiwi, keruru, ruru, weka, tui, oyster catchers and many more. The group is led by three administrators and includes over 20 property owners covering over 60 hectares of bush in a coastal environment.
